The One-Page Rule for MBA Resumes
For MBA freshers (0–2 years post-MBA): strictly one page.
For experienced MBAs (5+ years total experience): one to two pages maximum.
Indian recruiters, especially at consulting and banking firms, are trained to read one-page resumes. A two-page MBA resume signals poor editing and self-awareness.

Include your MBA programme and expected/actual graduation year in the header itself:

Use the standard bullet format: action verb + metric + business impact.
For consulting target roles, use the Situation-Action-Result structure compressed into one sentence:
"Identified ₹23Cr cost reduction opportunity in supply chain for FMCG client through SKU rationalisation analysis, resulting in 18% margin improvement across 3 product lines."For finance roles, lead with deal size, portfolio value, and returns:

Common MBA Resume Mistakes in India
Using the same resume for all roles — consulting resumes and finance resumes are structurally different. Have separate versions. Weak action verbs — "Helped with," "Assisted in," "Worked on" are invisible to ATS and unimpressive to humans. Use: Led, Drove, Executed, Negotiated, Delivered, Built, Launched, Secured. No metrics — "Improved team performance" means nothing. "Increased team productivity by 32% through restructured sprint planning, reducing sprint carryover from 40% to 8%" is an ATS-strong, human-impressive bullet. Long pre-MBA experience — If your pre-MBA experience is more than 5 years old, compress it. Give recent MBA projects more space. Generic summary — "Highly motivated MBA graduate seeking challenging opportunities" is filler. Write a targeted 2-sentence summary with your target role and top credential.Run your MBA resume against each specific JD using ATSPass before applying.
