Understand exactly how Naukri's FastForward algorithm scores your resume and what you need to do to appear at the top of recruiter searches.
Check my Naukri ATS score →Naukri uses its own FastForward algorithm combined with the RChilli parser to process every resume uploaded to the platform. When you apply for a job or when a recruiter searches for candidates, this system determines whether your profile surfaces or stays invisible.
RChilli extracts your name, contact info, skills, experience, education, and designations from your resume file.
The extracted data is indexed in Naukri database. If the parser missed your Skills section, you show zero skills.
When recruiters search, Naukri ranks candidates by keyword match, profile completeness, and last active date.
FastForward gives your profile a relevance score. Recruiters see this score alongside your profile.
This is the single biggest factor. Naukri's algorithm compares keywords in recruiter searches and JDs against your profile. Always include both the abbreviated and full forms of key skills.
Naukri rewards profiles with all sections filled: current designation, current company, total experience, expected salary, location, education, and skills. An incomplete profile ranks lower even if your skills match perfectly.
Naukri's algorithm heavily weights how recently you updated your profile. Profiles updated in the last 30 days rank significantly higher. Even a minor edit counts as an update.
Use specific, standard job titles. "Senior Marketing Manager" ranks higher than "Manager" for relevant searches. Avoid creative titles that don't match what recruiters type into Naukri's search bar.
⚠️ Your Naukri profile and your uploaded resume PDF must say the same things. Discrepancies in total experience, current salary, or skills flag your profile as inconsistent and hurt your ranking.

85% or above (Excellent) means your resume's keywords and formatting closely match what Naukri's parsing is built to screen for — the biggest factor in how well a resume surfaces in recruiter searches. 70–84% (Good) usually means you're parsed correctly with some keyword gaps worth closing. Below 50% (Weak) usually means real gaps that are holding your profile back in Naukri searches.
